This is a decent resource, and Forex Peace Army too.

We are looking at doing some robot tests of our own in due course - watch this space...

I am having real difficulty in getting my money back from these people. I am unhappy for all the reasons you have mentioned and I have sent them 20 days trading statment and they are still insisting on 30 days. They continue to procrastenate and my 60 days are up at the end of the week! How do I instigate a charge back

Hi, try not to argue with them regarding their requirement for 30 days logs, this is all bullshit, the vendor only permits their product to be released with unconditional refund policy. So simply write to Plius under your refund request and state that if your refund request will not be honoured according to the consumer laws, you will have no other options but to initiate a chargeback procedure with your Bank.

These FRWC people are definately try not to play ball, they look like a bunch of first-grade students, anything but professional, including their website, documentation and quality of EAs (not mentioning really quality of trading of EAs, simple user experience). Or, at least it was like that at the beginning when I tried myself.

Not sure if it helps, but they actually mean 30 working days and not 30 days with trades on them. So if you have the logs for 30 working days then send them that, which is what I did after a couple of days of email arguements!

I did get my refund, although it took a while, but Plimus came through

Danny, don't waste your time in an argument. Use Plimus web interface to request refund and state that you are not satisfied by product and according to consumer laws they must refund you unconditionally. Mention that otherwise you will go for a charge back as they are actually committing fraud by not refunding you according to the general policy.

    Hi Danny

Raa's right. Over the years I have done several chargebacks when internet purchases have gone wrong; basically you phone your credit card company and explain why they should refund you. You may have to fill in a form, or it might be done just over the phone. Usually they put the particular charge (and any interest on it) "into dispute" and refund you, and then if after a certain amount of time if the vendor hasn't come back with a satisfactory answer they close the case. The vendor can disput the chargeback but in my experience they don't bother.

But the vendors are limited to the number of chargebacks they get, say 1%, if they get more than that they get fined, etc, because it shows the card company that they are a bit of an "iffy" vendor.

hope you get this sorted out, these disputes waste a lot of time!

    cheers

    Julian

A small clarification here for others: you are actually describing how chargeback is done. Initially you ask a merchant (or vendor in this case Plius) for a refund, if no luck here, you go for the procedure you have described above, a chargeback.
