Honestly, people, I can see from books that at all times there were pessimistic people who did not believe for a better outcome and also there were people who like to exploit these fears. Not saying that TEG belongs to later necessarily, at any time you had doom-sayers preparing for the end of the world. While it is true that things like natural resources are fading and population is growing, one should never underestimate a technological progress and human's ability to divert problem when it is becoming very real.
At the ancient times it took 1000 years for collective human knowledge to double, now it takes less than 2 years. While it is true that natural resources like oil are getting used out, it is still a lot of them left enough for another 30-50 years of abundant consumption. There are A LOT of patents of far more efficient technologies, most of them owned by engergy companies and lots of things in progress too. But those technologies are still too expensive to use en mass, it makes no economic sense. Once oil will become scarce, these things will start to make sense to use and oil/energy companies will be switching over to new methods of energy production. It's just a market economy. Alas, I am a true believer in science and human's ability to save it's ass when it is really on fire, and have no doubt we will get Cold Thermonuclear Synthesis ready for a practical application (not only for a practical joke!) long before oil is gone. And once cheap and abundant energy source is available suddenly a lot of land will be possible for cultivation, all that expensive hydroponic plantations that used merely in Japan, Singapore due to high energy consumption will make a lot of sense as they allow to increase food production from the same bit of land tenfolds and higher, et cetera, et cetera. I am optimistic.

Default Great Debate - Let's Carry on!

Hi everyone, hope you all had good weekends.

I think the debate we are having is fantastic, I've really enjoyed it so far. What I particularly like/worry about is that we are all in agreement about the state of affairs the world is in, although raa has made me feel a little bit happier/more optimistic. Although only a bit...

@LEIGHLEIGH - I'm not being "fair to the naysayers", I think this has triggered a great debate and you can have no debate without an opposing view. I apologize for misreading your post - my comments still stand regarding storable food - but I will also take your points on board. Maybe we should consider planting papaver somniferum in our gardens?

My grandparents never really talked about the War - my maternal grandparents were refugees from Poland, and they never discussed anything really. I think they wanted to forget it all - so you are very lucky that you managed to talk to people about it and learn something. That's really great and thank you for sharing. I really mean it.

@Pablo: Marc and I have a policy that we will only promote products that we have used, do use or will use ourselves. We simply can't recommend 99% of the products out there because they are rubbish and we genuinely care about the Forex FX Trader group and what we are trying to achieve.

Having said that, we do NEED to promote things to pay for this site. For example, we moved server last week, spending approximately $3,000 in the process. This money comes out of our pockets. Anything we do make gets reinvested in the site for everyone's benefit. We barely cover our costs, let alone the hundreds of hours we put into the site every month.

Most Forex sites pay for their bandwidth and other costs by advertising brokers. Sadly, the kind of brokers that can afford to pay for advertising (they are normally the ones who also sponsor football and F1 teams) are precisely the kind of brokers we would NEVER recommend, as they make their money by cheating clients. Therefore we don't have that option.

As we have said before, if you want to buy a product that we have recommended, please do so through our link as it means that we can pay for the site, Forum and Blog. It also means we can expand and offer even more value to you guys.

I'd love it if we'd won an Aston Martin for promoting a product we believe in, and good luck to the guy/girl who did. However, I doubt Marc and I will even be able to pay for a beer each from the proceeds - it's all gone on the server move and bandwidth.

    Simon.

OOo I do love a good debate and will take either side just for the sake of debating, but I'm afraid that the presentation is as far as I went. And you are right; we are in agreement about the future and it is looking grim.

I am finding that as those who lived through WWII are dying off, there is an urge on their part to share their experiences. Fascinating and fantastically sad.

Please let us know how things go for you who have joined the Elevation Group, for there are those of us who are trying to sepearate crap marketing from the true worth of the service and so are listening to what you and Marc ( and others) may have to say, as if you have nothing else to do but write even more than you do now!

There are plenty of us who believe in this site and will do what we can to promote it, for you guys have done alot for us. Short of tattooing Marc's name on my rump, that is.

And as for that garden....perhaps it should be an indoor thing, n'est-ce pas?

Default The Elevation Group Free Webinar

Hi, the Elevation group is now a year old. I initially joined back in December 2010 & have to say that initially that it was pretty chaotic but I could see what they were trying to achieve. There was a shortage of information within the site/hardly any articles/lessons and so many people joined that their back office support needed completely rebuilding. I stayed with it until around May time and then cancelled.

I rejoined in September of 2011 and I am still a member. The infrastructure problems have all been sorted and there is a lot of great content within the site. Those joining now get to see all the previous sections including an eye opening interview with Robert Kiyosakis' tax expert. Lots of new and alternative ideas and although I agreed with Leigh that the doom & gloom was over done in the sales hype, on balance it is for me a worthwhile membership. Also a lot of what they & I were forecasting re gold & riots in the Arab world etc has happened or is starting now, so they may be right after all

If you click on this link you can actually see all the sections within the membership area Elevation Group virtual tour and things like the Bank of You is an excellent concept for protecting and increasing your wealth, having said that it is very much an American concept and I havent been able to find anyone in the Uk that can offer it.

The Elevation group has most benefit for USA members as there is a lot that pertains to their tax and pension laws, but on balance I feel it is worth being a member.

On Thusday 15th December they are holding a webinar including a Q & A session with visitors, it should be interesting and they promise some special guests so I may see you there? Elevation Group Webinar If not I suspect that it will be recorded and available later.

I have posted a more detailed review in the blog which is currently being redesigned, you can find the post here: The Elevation Group review - One Year On

    regards, Marc
