In a way yes you are right. But robots have not been programmed by rocket scientists. You cannot put all this knowledge in 100 lines of code and sell it for 100 dollars. Certainly banks can use big computers with smarter programs that would take care of many more parameters.
So if possible try to understand what the robot is trying to do and in this case MD is taking advantage of the quiet times when all markets are closed. This is why it is not going to trade during the day.
Once you know how the robot "thinks" why not assist him in his task if you know better.
You know that MD will trade 2-3 times a week and try to make 10 pips. Once in a while it will have a loss of 100 pips. Why not turn it off when you see that something is not ok? You might lose one 10 pip profit. Not a big deal, but if you save yourself from a 100 pip loss then it is worth it.
If you have a scalping robot that trades 20 times a day, yes I agree you cannot start turning it off and on because there is no point using it.
This is not an actual problem with MD. MD has good filters and simply doesnt trade when either the volitility is too great or the range is too small. Thats why we havent seen many trades recently, too tight a range, and why it sometimes seems to miss trading oportunities during active/moving markets.
Would someone recommend good value vps service for running megadroid, what would be the costs ? Thanks !
Hello Kwchau
And welcome to the forum. I personally use swvps for about 1 year now and I am very happy.
The cost is 20.5 USD per month.
I recommend them but if you search the forum using "VPS" you will also find other suggestions from members.
Hi
I use Rapid Host at £15 a month. Megadroid sems fine at the moment.

Hi KwChau,
I am not certain a Linux VPS will wok. People at swvps know what Metatrader is and will be able to assist you in case something is not working.
Megadroid if set at a conservative mode will do ok. You will not get rich with it but you will not loose money. Few trades a month.
I still have the old version that works fine for me. I did not have any trades either. Concerning the aggressive mode, yes it will try to recover from losses by increasing the risk. There is no other way for a robot to recover the losses. It will not get "smarter" otherwise it would use the "smart" mode all the time.
So if it had a loss for some reason there is not guarantee that the aggressive trade is going to be a win. It could also be a second larger loss.
