One more trade last night for 9 pips.

I asked MD about my experience having one copy of MD on my VPS and one copy running on my local PC on the same broker. It fired two trades at the same time and thinking the second trade was a recovery it doubled the lot size. I can only assume it was done because of the millisecond gap between the 2 platforms (one in Greece and one in US). So after writing 10 lines and explaining what happened this is the answer from MD.

As far as I understood you were using two copies on the same account, so it is using one license on one Live account only. What a morons.

What actually proves an old point coming from stock trading: those guys who fail to become a successful trader end up being gurus giving advices instead of trading. In a forex world it as far as I can see accompanied by failed traders becoming sellers of wonder robots. Such an irony. But it is the rule of life: most coaches in sport are actually ex players and racers who never quite made it as well.

I was a little concerned over the infrequency of trades so far on my megadroid account so I did a reality check. Looking at some back testing at random, I see between 2 and 5 trades per week and and between 1.3% to 8% gains per week, with similar trades at different brokers (all demo).

My megadroid live account shows a 3.2% gain on three trades over 8 trading days. Even at this rate, it could triple the account in a year so I guess that's pretty good - feels like watching paint dry though. Still getting used to the power of compounding - it's crazy insane what it will do if we can be consistent over a few years and let it work for us.

Not that either sample is statistically significant, but I'm more inclined after this to believe that megadroid and the live fxdd account are operating together properly as designed. fxdd seems to have a 2 pip spread every time I check, so I don't see that as an issue at present.

I've seen a wide range of performance in back testing different brokers and settings and I feel like my current setup did as well as anything else, so I'll probably just let this run for a while and try not mess with it too much.

I might put megadroid on a demo go-market and demo WSD account as well for some sort of comparison going forward. Will try to post some results from time to time if that helps anyone, and look forward to hearing how everyone else is doing too.

I think you wanted to say February and not March.
And yes MD will only trade once per night for 10 pips max. That's all. After a winning trade it will go to sleep. After a loosing trade it will try to recover with double the lot size if conditions are normal.

I have found that I get 2-5 trades per week with Megadroid. I have also found that the broker one uses can be the reason for infrequent trades. ForexMeta is an IB for FXDD so your trade activity will probably be identical. I have found Alpari and Forex.com to be good brokers to use the Megadroid with. If running a VPS I would recommend setting up another MT4 demo account with a different broker and let it run and see how your results compare. I personally have the aggressive turned off. If your account doesn't support hedging then the aggressive will wait for any other EURUSD trades to exit before it enters.

One more trade last night. For 0 pips this time.
MD entered the market long relatively late at 22:55 GMT and at 1.3624. Things did not go as expected and price went down to 1.3606 and then came back. As soon as it broke even MD closed the trade at 00:30 GMT without opening any other trade.

Just 1 pip from last night.
MD entered short at 22:09 1.3605. Then it was in profit for 12 pips but it did not close the trade, then price came back and finally the trade closed at 1.3604 00:12 (about 2 hours).
I think it did not close the trade at 12 pips because the market was not stable, price was moving all the time and I think MD prefers to close the trade when it is "safe" that will not get a requote.

Hi:
Just pulled 8 pips on FXDD (live) and 8.1 pips on GoMarkets (demo) around 2115 GMT 3/10/2010. FXDD Also pulled one pip yesterday.

I noticed that GoMarkets swap seems to be three times FXDD, but since we are buying and selling, over time this should cancel itself out?
