Greetings from Italy,
I'm an "old" trader (both in experience than in age :-)).
I used to trade almost all the financial instruments and I approached to the Spot Forex three years ago.
I would like to start trading the MDP EA, but I must admit I am deeply confused about the settings of this robot.
I understood the settings are highly correlated to the broker's "behavior"(e.g. rules about stop level) and to the execution speed, but I have not realized yet what is the logical sequence (priority ) of the main aspects of the EA (and of the broker) to be taken into consideration.
I currently have two brokers :
1) ILQ (1:50 leverage) : this is a brand new account (opened through forexverified.com) it is claimed (from forexverified.com) that this broker has the best "average" results for the MDP EA ...., they told me : "The execution speeds aren't "fantastic" - they average 1-2 seconds. But, we have autoapply_ecn set to false to force the EA into the aggressive mode which uses pending orders and trailing stops regardless of the slow speed." . Do you think this statement has a "good" logic (in regard to your MDP's trading experience) ? ForexVerified has a Myfxbook page (forexverified's Profile | Myfxbook) , there are many MDP accounts there, but they act in a different way.
2) Pepperstone : I would like to test the MDP also on this account . Because of the execution speed issue, I was thinking to take a dedicated server at the InterServer - Quality Web Hosting at Affordable Rates - Your New Jersey Provider ; this because they are in the same building of Equinix (the Pepperstone's liquidity provider). It should be the best choice (regarding the ex. speed) ; what do you think about ? What could be the best server configuration ?
I'm sorry for the bunch of questions, but ,from what I can understand , backtesting the the MDP's it is not possible , so I do not know how to find appropriate settings.
I hope you will help me .
