G'Day to everyone from sunny Brisbane, Australia.

Been trying to learn this craft for the last 3 years on and off, yep did all the stupid things most of us do and got nowhere.

Lucky for me I was still demo trading through this time.

I learnt not long ago that demo trading isn't for me, it doesn't give me that psychologic grounding that I have read is really needed, so I have opened a mini account and learning that way. I'm only placing 0.01 lot trades, so loses aren't very big, and neither are the wins, but then this account is not to make money, but rather to see how many pips I can take as apposed to how many I give back.

This is something I am fortunate enough to give my full attention to now, and so here I am to learn from a couple guys who actually do this as their fulltime profession, rather than learn from a marketing guru who has no idea what they are doing and will soon dissapear once the system they are pushing no longer becomes valid in this ever changing market.

I look forward to learning the true nature of the beast, and also look forward to having some great discussions with you all.

Hello Charlie,
And welcome to this forum.
I can say that you are on the correct path with your reasoning, now it is time to settle down and follow just one system (or two) on a couple of pairs. That way you will master this craft as you say.
Read Marc's and Pierre's analysis and soon you will be able to do your own analysis. Applying this analysis with a good trade management is the path to success. It is simple but it is not easy.
We are here to help you so do not hesitate to ask questions.

I am a newbie and am not qualified to give any trading advice, but I would like to say that you picked the right mentoring service this time, I'm sure of it. Lots of good guys on here who are patient and willing to answer questions and offer sound rationale for their decisions. It can get pretty lively on here as well......

LEIGH and NUDGE
Everyone is qualified to tell his opinion.
Even Marc, Pierre and Dean tell what they think about the current situation.
They are more experienced and their view includes more market aspects. I might see a bollinger and miss a fib. Or they might ignore a parameter that is not important for the current situation that we might think is paramount.
But with time you will develop a "magic feeling" for the market that is called experience.

Thanks Leigh, after reading some of the posts on the forum and the constant blog posts made by our mentors, i'm certain my trading experience over time will increase without a doubt.

I agree with you capsmart, i think we all have an opinion that is worth listening to, after all, its the reason these forums are here, and it doesn't need to be about trading either.
