    Default Metatrader tips and tricks

    Hiding your positions.
Let's say that you want to make a copy of your charts for posting but you have an open trade that is not to be public. What can you do?
To hide your position you right click on your chart and select properties then you change the colors of Volumes and Stop levels to None.
That way your positions are hidden. Of course you can use the same tool to change the color of your entry, stop loss and take profit.
Unfortunately the stop loss and take profit must have the same color.

    Default Pairs pairs pairs pairs

You want to watch many pairs at the same time.
What can you do for this?
Very simple (when you know it. I discovered it today after 4 years trading with mt 4).
You set up your chart. You put all your indicators. You can save it as a template if you want.
Then you open the Market Watch (from your menu View/Market Watch, or use the icon, or press Ctrl+M) then simply just drag the currency pair you want on top of the chart et voila. You have your new chart.
What is amazing is that you can draw trendlines, fibs, whatever and then drag another pair on top of your chart. And metatrader will remember all of them. So no need to have 15 tabs for all the pairs or use profiles.

Just what I needed. My Forex.com demo account crashed and did not improve by reinstalling MT4. Probably because I had 10 charts open with lots of indicators and EAs.

But I bumped into a new little problem with your method. In Symbols I try to hide the pairs I do not need. But it just will not be hidden. Nothing happens. I am using Alpari for this. I will now try running MT4 as administrator.

Yes with Windows 7 strange things happen.
Try to keep the indicators you do not use in a separate file and copy them when needed.

It worked in a different MT4 installation. Also what I do is to arrange the order of the pairs. Then I can easily drag the pairs I trade over to the template chart.

    Cap:
Remember using this is if you have 2 currencies @ a similar price your trendlines, s/r, Fibs etc will be visible on both charts.

    Cheers
