Default MT4 demo accounts loses trades

Hi all,

this is just to warn you of a newbie problem I have encountered - I have used ForexMeta and Alpari to do "paper trades" on a demo account, which was very illuminating.

However post Xmas all of them have disappeared. I contacted Alpari's (very good) customer service and they said they regularly purge demo accounts trades from the servers to improve performance.

***You need to download these to your computer*** I didn't know this, I'd assumed they were on my computer - yet another ^&*!ing setback.

Default Demo - Real account

I would suggest to open real accounts with a small amount.
You can open a micro account where the pip costs cents and it is better than the demo account.
With a demo you do not care about the outcome. If you ruin your account you can start again. Loosing 100 dollars even if is not the end of the world hurts. You could do more enjoyable things.

Thanks Capsmart,

That's actually what I've done - great minds and all that :-). It was just a bit annoying to have done a fair number of paper trades and have it all disappear. If I'd realised they were not on my computer but on the server I would have downloaded them. It's obvious now, but it wasn't to me when I started.

May The Pips Be With You

cheers

Julian
