Trading Gold and Silver

I have been successfully trading gold and silver for several years, having bought very near the bottom of the market in both markets.

You may think, as many people do, that trading gold and silver is dangerous – “It’s too late”, “When the man in the street starts doing it, it’s all over”, “It’s a bubble”. I don’t believe that any of these things are true and I will briefly explain why. I have also created a free eBook which you can download below for free if you think my arguments are persuasive!

Why I am Trading Gold and Silver

As a professional Forex trader, I am well aware of the fact that gold and silver are money. The fiat currencies (i.e. not backed by any tangible asset) we have today are, historically, an anomaly.

Every single fiat currency since the Roman Empire created the first fiat system in the 1st Century AD has ended in devaluation and eventual collapse – not only of the currency itself, but of the economy that used the fiat currency as well.

I am a big believer that we should all be aware of history – those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. The simple fact of the matter is, history is not on the side of fiat currencies in any way, so one of the reason I am interested in precious metals is an insurance policy against eventual currency collapse.

Another reason is that, whilst gold and silver have made great gains over the last few years (gold in particular, silver more recently), a large amount of their rise is not attributable to the commodities themselves becoming more valuable – rather, governments in the US, Euro Zone and UK have been printing enormous quantities of cash. The value of the metals isn’t really going up, rather it shows you how the currencies are being devalued.

So I am investing in them to protect myself from inflation.
